Mitch recently returned to his Alma Mater, Syracuse University!
First Mitch started the weekend by finalizing the details of this summer’s upcoming Kit-Kat Tour for our Dorm, Club and LITs.
This is going to be a great, specialized tour of the campus, including an info session with the admissions department, lunch in one of the Syracuse Student Dining Halls, a taping of the Towanda News at The Dick Clark Studios at The Newhouse School of Communications, a fun cooking workshop in the TV Kitchen of Falk College, a tour of the JMA Wireless Dome, a trip to the bookstore, and finally dinner at Varsity Pizza on M Street!
Next up was the WJPZ Radio 50th Year Banquet celebration, the school radio station where Mitch was a DJ and the station manager in the 1970s! The banquet was an impressive gathering of over 200 accomplished WJPZ Radio alums!
You can check out the highlights of Mitch’s return to the airwaves as guest alumni DJ “Midday Mitch”. Quite humorous!!! Watch the VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS! And if you missed it, listen to the “WPJZ at 50” podcast interviewing Mitch about his days before he was a camp director". You never know if these will be camp trivia questions one day!.
The weekend was complete with several meet-ups with Towanda Alums and watching The Orange celebrate the 20th anniversary of their National Basketball Championship and closing out their regular home season with a win against Wake Forest. Fun Fact: Mitch was at Coach Boeheim's 1st home game in Fall, 1975 and his now last home game.
Enjoy and get psyched for an amazing tour of Syracuse this summer! A new tradition to look forward to at Camp Towanda!
Orange you glad you just read all this??
