Off Season Recap

The thing about Camp Towanda is it is NOT just camp for 7 weeks, it is truly being part of a family, a family that grows and builds each year as more people join – ever expanding as we become bigger and better.

It is really true that one finds life-long and worldwide friends here…and it begins when you first walk on to camp property.

Last Fall’s BBQ set the tone; the spirit, vibe and enthusiasm of the Dorm and Club was instrumental in welcoming our new campers for a relaxing day at camp (Click for more photos!). The Tailgate Reunion in November continued the thread that we just love getting together. (Click for more photos)

Note: The Pandemic era Tailgate will become a footnote in Towanda history as we plan to return to indoor space in New Jersey.

The December Florida Beach Party yet again attracted over 200 people coming together! (Click for more photos!) The April VisionWalk in Central Park in NYC, despite the challenging weather and opposing school events, was a good time and a good cause for those of us who made it, representing Team Towanda!

The recent Spring Picnic at camp in May hosted by The Seniors (enjoying the Senior Sleepover the night before) was the last live push before camp starts. (Click for more photos!)

In addition to those live events, the Camp Towanda Family stayed together virtually through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, FNF WATCH PARTY, staff meetings, ice-breaking zooms, camp conferences, virtual Bingo, Virtual Trivia, SCOPE Events…and also the October Pumpkin Carving Contest, Super Bowl Pool, and the Final 4 Bracket Challenge.

To sum it up, at the Spring picnic a parent was overhead reflecting about the Seniors interacted with the new campers…

“...Watching the older kids interact, comfort and welcome our kids is overwhelmingly beautiful, sensitive and underlines that we have made the right camp choice, especially if our kids are going to turn out like them!”

Next up: Staff arrivals baggage arrivals and then…….drum roll….. Campers !!!!
